This page explains the cookies used on alrecovery.ie, what they’re for and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files saved on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed for the website to work, such as keeping items in your basket. Others help us understand how people use the site.
Cookies needed for the website and shop to work
| Cookie | Set by | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_ | Our shop (WooCommerce) | Remembers what’s in your basket while you shop and check out. |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Helps process your payment securely and prevent fraud. |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Protects our forms from spam and automated abuse. |
Analytics and marketing cookies
| Cookie | Set by | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_ followed by an ID | Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages are used, so we can improve the website. The information is grouped and doesn’t identify you by name. |
| sbjs_ cookies | Our shop (WooCommerce order attribution) | Records how you found us, for example through a search engine or a link, so we can see which marketing brings in orders. |
We also use Google Tag Manager and Google Ads to measure enquiries from our adverts. These only run if you accept marketing cookies. Ahrefs Web Analytics measures visits without using cookies.
Embedded content
Some pages show content from other services, such as Google Maps. These services may set their own cookies when you view that content. Their own cookie and privacy policies apply.
How to control cookies
When you first visit the website, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and marketing cookies. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads only run if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time here:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the cookies needed for the shop, your basket and checkout won’t work. You can stop Google Analytics recording your visits by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
