M1 Breakdown and Recovery, Drogheda to Newry
Broken down on the M1? Get yourself and your passengers out of the car and behind the barrier first. Then ring us. We're based in Dundalk, right beside the motorway, and we recover cars, vans and bikes from the M1 between Drogheda and the border, and the A1 up to Newry.
Safety first, then the car
The M1 is fast and unforgiving. A car stopped on the hard shoulder is in real danger, so what you do in the first few minutes matters more than anything we do.
Once everyone is safe and you've rung us, we come out, load the car and take it off the motorway to a garage or wherever you want it.
- Pull onto the hard shoulder as far left as you can
- Hazard lights on, and sidelights at night
- Get out by the left-hand doors
- Wait behind the barrier, well up the bank
- Don't try any repair on the hard shoulder
- Call 999 or 112 if you're in a live lane or anyone is hurt
Once you're behind the barrier, ring 086 158 2524 with the junction or the nearest marker post.
